Athena Film Festival Now Accepting Submissions

Attention filmmakers and writers: Do you have a short film, feature script, or TV pilot about amazing women leaders? Submissions are now open for the 2022 Athena Film Festival (AFF), the 2022 Athena List, and the 2021 Athena Virtual Writer’s Lab.

Not sure which program is right for you? Let’s run a few scenarios:

“I have a completed short film about women leaders!”
Submit it to the 2022 Athena Film Festival!

“I have completed and developed a script about women leaders that has already gone through a lab or workshop.”
Submit it to the 2022 Athena List!

“I have a feature film script or a TV pilot about women leaders that I want to workshop.”
Submit it to the 2021 Athena Virtual Writer’s Lab! Submit your feature film script through the Screenwriter Portal or your TV Pilot through the TV Portal.

Focused on celebrating and amplifying the stories of women leaders, AFF will be celebrating its 12th edition in March 2022. Melissa Silverstein, Women and Hollywood’s Founder and Publisher, is a co-founder of AFF and its Artistic Director.

2021 Athena Virtual Writer’s Lab – Submissions Open June 1 – July 8, 2021
The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College Virtual Writers Lab is a Creative Development program workshop for emerging women writers. 2022 Athena List – Submissions Open June 1 – September 15, 2021
The Athena List is an annual script competition that selects exceptional scripts with women leaders at the heart of the story. As the central program in the Athena Film Festival’s Creative Development program, The Athena List’s goal is to raise the profile of the scripts and the writers within the industry with the purpose of getting these movies made and elevating their careers to the next level.
