Since weighing in on “My 600-lb Life” at 631 pounds, Biran has successfully gotten her weight down to 381 pounds, as reported by The Cinemaholic. This loss of roughly 250 pounds is thanks in part to gastric bypass surgery, which she underwent after losing enough weight to do so safely.
However, misfortune was hot on the heels of her success. As Screen Rant reports, she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome in early 2019 – an unusual and debilitating autoimmune disorder. This dashed her hopes of further surgery to remove the excess skin left over after she lost weight and led her to enter a nursing home.
Despite this turmoil and disappointment, her social media activity hints at a silver lining. A Facebook post in May 2019 showed her in front of a Las Vegas sign, alongside a man tagged as Ronnie Earl Roden with the joyful caption, “Hey baby lets go to Vegas, Kiss the single life goodbyeee”. So it looks like she could have gotten hitched! Or at the very least a loving partner may have entered her life.
Updates on Biran’s life since 2019 have been relatively scant. Though one comment on a Facebook photo posted on January 2nd suggests she may be in a rehab center, a common destination for those recovering from weight loss surgery and seeking rehabilitation toward a long-term healthier lifestyle. Wherever she may be, we wish her all the best on that journey.
