Marvel’s ‘What If…?’ Season 2 Will Pull More Stories From Phase 4

Marvel’s What If…? producer A.C. Bradley has revealed that the show’s second season will draw more stories from Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel’s What If…? is by no means the best series the studio has put out but it’s still has proven to be a solid watch for fans. Since its debut, the stories that the series have drawn upon have focused entirely on the MCU’s first three phases. Stories from Phase 4 have notably been absent, possibly because they were being developed at the same time. This, however, is set to change with the show’s second season.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, producer A.C. Bradley and director Bryan Andrews spoke about the Marvel show’s upcoming second season, with Bradley stating that it would draw more stories from Phase 4 than the first season:

“Going into the second season, we’re sticking with anthology form, and it’s going to be all-new stories, lots of fun, new heroes, and pulling more from Phase Four than we were obviously able to this season. Hopefully, we’ll see hints of Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Black Widow characters. The fun of What If…? is that we get to explore the entire infinite multiverse, so we try and bounce around as much as we can. I want to play with all these characters, and as much as I love Captain Carter, we’ve got to share the love. I’m very excited to show new worlds, new heroes.”

Here is the synopsis for Marvel’s What if…?:

“Exploring pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.”

Marvel’s What If…? features the voices of Josh Brolin, Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Michael B Jordan, Chadwick Boseman, Jeffrey Wright, Hayley Atwell, and other major stars from the MCU.

The first seven episodes of What If…? are available to stream on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
