Firaxis Games’ upcoming video game, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been delayed until late 2022.
The video game side of Marvel has had something of a mixed to positive resume over the past few years. Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales both proved to be excellent games. Marvel’s Avengers from Square Enix was less so and the company’s latest game, Guardians of the Galaxy proved to be a good if not great piece of interactive entertainment. Earlier this year Firaxis Games revealed the first trailer for their newest game, Marvel’s Midnight Sons. The developer is best known for their work on the X-COM strategy games and further trailers revealed that the new Marvel game would feature a similar gameplay style. Additionally, it would be one of the first Marvel games to dive into the realm of dark magic, with a story revolving around an original character of the player’s creation, battling Lillith, The Mother of Demons. The game was originally slated to be released in March of 2022. Now this release date has, unfortunately, been delayed.
Yesterday it was revealed through Marvel’s Midnight Sons’ official Twitter account that the game was being delayed until the second half of 2022. The decision came out of a desire for the development team to make the best possible game imaginable and thanked fans for understanding the delay:
