According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Saturday Night Live” star Kyle Mooney is teaming up with Ben Jones of Bento Box Entertainment to produce a live action-animation hybrid series for Netflix. The new series, titled “Saturday Morning All Star Hits!,” is said to be “wildly irreverent and slightly disturbing” and is designed as an adult parody of the children’s cartoons that aired in the 1980s and ’90s.
Mooney will appear in the live action portions of the show as a set of twins named Skip and Treybor. In the series, the siblings host a Saturday morning show. Additional producers on the project include “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels, as well as Andrew Singer, Katy Jenson, Scott Greenberg, Joel Kuwahara, Dave McCary, and Scott Gairdner. Deadline reports that the series will run for a total of eight episodes.
“Saturday Morning All Star Hits!” will be released by Netflix on December 10.
