Fans React To Surprising Death In ‘The Flash: Armageddon’

The latest episode of The Flash‘s Armageddon event features an insane, surprising death that has left many fans scratching their heads.

Spoilers ahead for The Flash‘s “Armageddon: Part 2”.

The Flash kicked off its eighth season last week with the first chapter of the Armageddon crossover event. This week, the team is still trying to prove to Despero that Barry Allen won’t be the cause of the end of the world in the future. From Despero’s perspective, Allen is doomed to destroy the world, as he’s poised to lose his mind when he suffers a disturbing number of tragedies. In fact, the first of many tragedies was right around the corner, as a major death was revealed in the show’s final moments.

The episode revealed that Joe West has been dead for months and Barry Allen has no recollection of attending the funeral and giving the eulogy. Yikes. The death was not only a shocker for Barry Allen but also for long-time The Flash fans. Fans took to social media to post about Joe West’s death, with many debating if West is actually dead, or not.

Clearly, The Flash fans have some choice words and thoughts for the creative team. Luckily, executive producer Eric Wallace isn’t holding anything back. Speaking with TVLine before season 8’s premiere, Wallace teased Joe West’s… character direction.

“Let’s just say that Joe is going to get an incredibly different perspective on life, and it’s going to lead him to, I think, a really big choice. Everybody seems to think the big choice he made was last year, to put down his badge, but there is a much bigger choice coming his way in Season 8 that takes the character down a path that he didn’t know he was on, but that will feel like it’s the place he always needed to go.”

The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow / Killer Frost, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, and Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton.

The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and the future of the Arrowverse, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
