Ruby has left Bridgerton to be the lead of another Netflix series, the upcoming Lockwood & Co.

Francesca is a bit of a mystery within her chatty, extroverted family and only had two fleeting appearances in Season one.

Despite her reserved nature, she goes along to get along when it comes to social affairs, fortified with a dry wit and pragmatism that confound the fickle ton yet seem to draw attention when she least desires it.

The character then appeared in the first three episodes of season 2 but disappeared  without an explanation, leaving viewers confused.

The exciting news will no doubt be a consolation for fans who were left devastated after leading man Regé-Jean Page, 31, who played the Duke of Hastings, revealed he wasn’t returning to the period drama.

Based on a series of books of the same name by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton follows the eight siblings of the Bridgerton family as they attempt to find love in Regency-era England.

Bridgeton’s acclaimed first season was viewed by a staggering 82 million Neflix accounts in one month, new data has revealed.

The steamy period drama – the first run of which focused on the romance between Daphne Bridgerton, (Phoebe Dynevor), and Simon, Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page) – topped the streaming service’s series list, beating dramas including Lupin Part 1 and The Witcher Season One with 76million accounts each.

Bridgerton’s stellar success was revealed in data from the 2021 Code conference, presented by Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos, and was based on how many accounts viewed at least two minutes of the title during its first 28 days on Netflix.

Bridgerton season 1 and 2 is available to stream on Netflix.
